Hello
I'm Sarah! So glad you stopped by. I'm a mom X2, fire service wife/advocate, athlete, and businesswoman. My goal for this space is to be the best version of myself and help you do the same. Here you can be unedited and real. Let's take the next step together!

You're Probably Wondering, "What's her story?"
I'm wondering the same thing about you.
I've learned that everyone has a story. We all have experiences, challenges, and turning points that shape who we become and the direction we take. Some chapters make sense while we're living them. Others only make sense when we look back.
My path has been a windy one. I was raised in an active, athletic home by two parents who worked hard and taught me that perseverance isn't just a personality trait. It's something we build, one decision at a time.
From the beginning, I've had to fight to be in this world (born at 27 weeks). That early resilience became part of who I am and carried me through life as a college athlete, graduate student, educator, wife, mom, and now entrepreneur.
For 15 years, I worked in education, helping people navigate decisions, challenges, and their next chapters. I've spent more than 20 years alongside the fire service as a wife, learning firsthand that supporting the people who serve also means supporting the families and relationships behind the badge.
And now, I'm building Next Step Connect around something I believe deeply: we deserve support that helps us build lives we can actually sustain. But here's what I've learned about perseverance: it doesn't mean you never struggle, doubt yourself, get overwhelmed, or take the wrong turn.
I'm naturally curious, hopeful, and quick to look for possibilities. I love connecting the dots, asking questions, finding the humor in hard things, and helping people see a way forward when they feel stuck. I believe small changes matter, connection makes us stronger, and we don't have to overhaul our entire lives to make meaningful progress.
I also know my strengths have a flip side. I can see so many possibilities that narrowing my focus isn't always easy. I can get caught up in figuring out the best next step instead of simply taking it. And because I care deeply about the people and ideas I'm investing in, learning when to slow down, set boundaries, and give myself the same grace I offer others is an ongoing practice.
I'm not here because I've mastered life. I'm here because I'm still learning how to live it well.
That's why Next Step Connect isn't about fixing you, adding more pressure, or pretending there's one right way to move forward. It's about creating space to be honest about where you are, identify the support that would make a difference, and choose a next step that fits your life.
That support might look like strengthening your mindset and relationships, building sustainable wellness habits, gaining confidence through financial education, or exploring a business opportunity that aligns with your goals. For fire-service families and departments, it can also mean creating stronger connections and more sustainable ways to support the people behind the badge.
You don't have to do everything at once. You don't have to have it all figured out. And you certainly don't have to do it alone. Because the one thing I've learned is this:
Taking the next step isn't always the hardest part. It's continuing to take the next step when life keeps putting barriers in your way, and learning that you don't have to push through every barrier alone. That's the heart behind Next Step Connect. I'm glad you're here. I'd love to hear your story, too.
