The Photo That Changed How I See Myself (And Why I Hung It in My Bathroom)

Okay y’all, I’m about to share something a little personal—and the insights I’ve gathered from it.
In our main bathroom hangs a massive portrait of me from a boudoir shoot I did eight months postpartum with Dylan. Yes, that kind of photo. It’s bold, it’s unapologetic, and it takes up an entire wall.
The reactions are always interesting. Some people walk back into our bathroom, see it glaring them right in the face, and don’t know what to say. There’s the occasional wide-eyed “Whoa, that’s… a lot!” response, and I get it—it’s not something you expect in someone’s home. But what intrigues me most isn’t the shock factor. It’s the discomfort. The way some people instantly shift in their skin, laugh nervously, or make a self-deprecating comment about their bodies.
For me, though, that photo is powerful.

I didn’t take it for my husband.
Uh, nope.
I took it for myself.
It’s my reminder. My daily visual check-in. When I look in the bathroom mirror and see her—me, frozen in that moment—I remember exactly who I was when I chose to do it. I was a new mom, wrestling with my body, my self-talk, and all the opinions swirling around about what I “should” be.
That photo says:
“You did this.”
“You were brave enough to see yourself this way.”
“You carried and birthed a baby, and still chose to stand here in your power.”
She reminds me daily that beauty isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. About power. About grace. About letting yourself take up space in the world, even when it makes other people a little uncomfortable.
You deserve to be the best version of yourself. And if you’re struggling to get there, I’m here to be your hype girl and support you on that road while we walk it together. If you don’t think she exists—the version of you who radiates confidence, power, and joy—you’re wrong. She does. Do I have to search for her some days? Abso-freakin-lutely. But she’s always there. And when you find her, she changes everything.
And honestly? That’s why I coach women.
Whether it’s through my work with women in the fire service or through wellness with Arbonne, the mission remains the same: helping women step fully into who they are. To own their strength. To reclaim their reflection. To realize they don’t have to wait for “perfect” to show up for themselves.
Because once you’ve seen yourself that way—confident, strong, and unapologetic—you can never unsee it. And that’s a gift worth giving to yourself every single day.
Your Turn
If you’re ready to find your version of that photo—the version of you that’s bold, radiant, and unapologetically herself—let’s talk. You don’t have to do it alone. I’ll be right there beside you, cheering you on, helping you find her, and making sure she never fades into the background again.
Send me a message today and let’s start uncovering the most powerful, confident version of you. She’s already there… let’s bring her forward.
