Competition is not for everyone, but achieving an athletic endeavor can provide impactful tools that can be used to connect with others in ways we are unaware of.


Below, we listed questions to help identify areas where we are challenged by working towards a goal or making progress. How does that relate to our ability to connect with others?


Take a moment to reflect on your conversations. How do your conversations around elite competition impact your connections with others?


Where can you find common ground and understanding? What can you learn?


  • Family/Kids: How does competition bring your family closer together? What can you share through elite competition?

  • Personal /Self - What is your conversation with yourself when challenged with progress? How does your experience relate to elite athletes and where can you apply it in your life?

  • Clients/students - Where does elite competition help you serve others? What connections can you make with clients/students?

  • Work/professional—Where do elite competition tools show up in your professional life?

  • Nature—What can we learn about nature compared to elite competition?

  • Community/online networks—How does elite competition allow you to expand your network? How are your networks impacted when discussing elite competition?
