A natural way we connect with others is by creating shared meaning. This doesn't necessarily mean we make the same sense, but rather that we share a common interest or identify common values related to an activity or experience.

In today's post, we pose questions to explore where we can find opportunities to create shared meaning in the world around us. How can we identify these opportunities and capitalize on them?

  • Family/Kids: Values and norms are established within our family unit. Where can you identify shared meaning, and how does that add value or meaning to your connections with family?

  • Personal /Self: What does a shared meaning identified say about your values and norms? How does that evaluation shift your experience in the world?

  • Clients/students - In what ways do shared values impact the connection we make with clients or students we work with?

  • Work/professional— Where do our values and shared meaning impact the productivity in our work? or the relationships we have with people we work with?

  • Nature— Where does nature have shared meaning? How does it reveal itself to us?

  • Community/online networks— Where does shared meaning impact the value of community? Where does it enhance the impact of the community? How can it take away from a community?
