Connection Opportunity post #49

Our time here is limited. So how can we create a space to connect with others? Why does that matter? Humans are social beings. We need a connection to survive literally.

Building relationships is as much about listening to and supporting ourselves as it is about connecting with other people. We often go through seasons of connection with people in our lives. I find that when those seasons are in flux, we tend to err on the side of thinking the relationship is ending when, in reality, it may simply be in transition or in a different stage.

Today's post prompts us to reflect on the questions that align our awareness with those who impact our lives. They may not be in the front row, but they are paying attention, and we can still connect.

ree

  • Family/Kids: Is there family in your life who have not been regularly present that you miss? How would your connection change if you were to interact with them regularly?

  • Personal /Self: How often do you check in on the relationship with yourself? How are you impacted when you do check in?

  • Clients/students - How many times do we ask those we work with if they are truly ok? What is our follow-up on their answer?

  • Work/professional— When was the last time you checked in on a coworker? What impact did that one act have on your day?

  • Nature— What area of nature causes you to be more reflective? How often do you expose yourself to that environment?

  • Community/online networks— Where does your online network impact you the most? How do you feel afterward? Where can you shift to have the effect you want on others?
